The 1998 Miss America Pageant Program (Kate Shindle Cover), with Tickets and Associated Ephemera (described below), edited by Kathryn Lepanto Greco, published by Harry Eaby. Quarto, illustrated perfect-bound wraps, 100 pp. Near Fine, with small points of edge wear at perimeter (scan). In strong Very Good condition, with notable crease at the front cover and micro-touches of edge wear there as well, otherwise no damage anywhere. thus not to terribly far from Near Fine. See scans. The 1998 Pageant, held in late 1998, determined Miss America 1999; That's how it works, and does cause some confusion. Miss America1998 - Kate Shindle - was already reigning, thus graces the cover here. It's complicated.The Pageant of late 1998 for which this program was published was to determine would reign as Miss America through 1999. Wall to wall color photography here, including every contestant, with bios as well. Pageant history and text throughout as well. Includes two tickets - one unused, one used with stub missing - and the envelope in which they were sent (scan), as well as a 6-fold, two-sided (hence 12-panel) brochure (scan); also a small intro card for Michele Mobley, Miss Utah for that year(scan). Extraordinarily scarce, especially with the stated ephemera. Ships in a sturdy box, of course; not a bag. LPR30.
