A propos du livre

À propos de la quatrième de couverture

When Joelene Mathieson leaves California to look after old, ailing Uncle Percy, she hopes that now she can leave her past behind and look forward to the future. But eccentric and cantankerous Uncle Percy does not take kindly to his niece’s presence in his decaying house. And still less to her attempts to stop him working on his wooden ark – lovingly built and now soaring magnificently in the back yard.

But all this is just the beginning of Joelene’s troubles. For, unknown to her, Don Diamond, her former boyfriend, has lined her old car with stolen banknotes and is in hot pursuit with his Mafia friends …

Will the hoard be discovered? Will Joelene come to terms with her own slapdash life? And who is planning to fill Uncle Percy’s ark with circus animals?

“A credible and funny picture of American provincial life.”
