Synopsis
A special hardback edition of JRR Tolkien’s masterpiece of children’s literature, in a presentation box with the full-colour Map of The Hobbit, some large Hobbit postcards, plus an exclusive free CD of Tolkien reading poetry and extracts from The Hobbit.
Following the success of The Lord of the Rings seven-volume edition comes a special edition of The Hobbit, complete with a free CD of archive recordings from 1952 of JRR Tolkien reading Bilbo’s encounter with the horrible Gollum.
Presented in a special gift box, this pack also includes a copy of John Howe’s delicious full-colour fold-out map of Wilderland showing Bilbo’s journey there and back again in glorious detail, a booklet by Brian Sibley about the writing of The Hobbit, plus six large postcards featuring Tolkien’s own magnificent paintings of his story.

À propos de l'auteur
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born on the 3rd January, 1892 at Bloemfontein in the Orange Free State, but at the age of four he and his brother were taken back to England by their mother. After his father’s death the family moved to Sarehole, on the south-eastern edge of Birmingham. Tolkien spent a happy childhood in the countryside and his sensibility to the rural landscape can clearly be seen in his writing and his pictures.
