This text provides an introduction to Dzogchen, a form of Tibetan Buddhist meditation that is becoming hugely popular among Westerners. Tibetan Buddhism is gaining adherents the world over, many of them inspired by the Dalai Lama. Within Tibetan Buddhism - and across many spiritual paths - there is tremendous interest in a practice called Dzogchen. Sometimes described as "Tibetan Zen", Dzogchen relies on a very simple path of meditation and realization. It is a direct path to realization rather than a gradual approach. This book is an introductory guide to Dzogchen, with basic practices to co-ordinate the energy of the individual and to develop awareness when dreaming - "lucid dreams". Unlike some forms of Tibetan Buddhism, Dzogchen does not require an understanding of Tibetan history or culture. It focuses on how to do everyday things - washing dishes, raising a child, working, taking a walk - in a deeper, more fulfilling way.
