Synopsis

There's a tremendous amount of interest these days in the Titanic, the 'unsinkable' ship that hit an iceberg of ice and sank in the North Atlantic over 85 years ago. This event has taken on a great deal of importance over the years for a number of reasons - the dreams that were built into the ship and the tragedy that resulted. Against the background of this basic, emotionally captivating scenario, the details of the actual story of the Titanic tend to stand out with poignant significance. Little things suddenly seem to mean a lot as a result being part of one of the biggest tragedies of the century. Writers, film-makers, scientists, legislators, and historians have all been doing a great deal with these details ever since.
