She breeds Australian Shepherds and competes with them in conformation, obedience, and agility. She is a tester for Therapy Dogs, Inc., and has taught obedience classes and occasionally judges matches. She is a member of the Dog Writers Association of America, the Bloomington Indiana Kennel Club, and other groups. Sheila lives with her husband, eight dogs, and two cats in Bloomington, Indiana.
