Synopsis

Eighty billion photographs are taken around the world each year, and portrait photography is by far the biggest sub-segment of the market. It is also the form of photography that most warrants its own how-to book because the point of portrait photography isn't just to capture a person's image, but their essence as well. And the skills necessary to put a subject at ease is something you won't find in any general book on photography. The Complete Idiot's Guide® to Portrait Photography will be an illustration-intensive how-to book that introduces readers to both the mechanics and art of photographing people, including coverage on selecting the right equipment, preparing for the shoot, the art of capturing the subject, film development and printing, and turning a hobby into a career.
