About the Author

Residents of northern New Mexico since 1970, Don and Barbara Laine have traveled extensively throughout the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest, spending as much time as possible in the outdoors, and especially in the region’s national parks and monuments. They have written Frommer’s guides to Utah, Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the National Parks of the American West. The Laines have also authored Little–Known Southwest and New Mexico & Arizona State Parks for The Mountaineers Books; and The New Mexico Guide for Fulcrum Publishing. A Denver–based freelance writer, Eric Peterson has contributed to Frommer’s guides to Colorado, Texas, and the National Parks of the American West, and has written Frommer’s Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks and a coffee table book, Roadside Americana (www.roadsideamericanabook.com). When he’s not on the road or writing about travel, Peterson covers Colorado’s high–tech business scene and Denver’s punk–rock underbelly. He’s also an avid camper and hiker who enjoys long weekends in the Colorado Rockies with his antique boots, his campfire–cooked delicacies, and his faithful mutt, Giblet.
