Biographie de l'auteur

Wu Cheng'en (1500? or 1506?-1582) , was a Chinese novelist and poet of the Ming Dynasty.Arthur Waley was a distinguished authority on Chinese language and literature. He was honoured many times during his lifetime for his outstanding translations from the Chinese and in 1935 he was awarded the Queen's medal for poetry which is only given at infrequent intervals. His many publications include 170 Chinese poems, The Tale of Genji (6 volumes), The Way and its Power, The Real Tripitaka and Yuam Mei.
