Laurent's romantic novel later made into a very successful film that starred Barbra Streisand & Robert Redford. 1st ed. Binding is bds.cl.w.dj. Also included is a hardcover copy in dustjacket for Laurent's novel "The Turning Point." This is the book club edition, and is the only hardcover edition published. The novel is based on his screenplay and is illustrated with 16pgs. of b&w stills from the popular and well received movie about the ballet world that received 11 Oscar nominations including one for the director of the film Herbert Ross. LAID IN THE BOOK IS A SMALL PIECE OF BLUE PAPER THAT HAS BEEN SIGNED BY HERBERT ROSS. Auction stamp on front pastedown, ink date written on the top edge of the endsheet, some minute creasing and chipping to the dustjacket and a few minor tiny creases to a few corners. Vg/vg. Also included is a Book Club Edition of "The Time Of The Cuckoo" Arthur Laurent's comedy about a spinster traveling in Venice, and finding romance. Published in 1953 by Random House this is a hardcover copy with dustjacket. The play starred Shirley Booth and was filmed in 1955 by David Lean with Katharine Hepburn starring. 1 interior photo + photo on the cloth. Some shallow chipping to the edge, and small pieces missing from the top of the back panel. Former owner's signature on pastedown, and light offsetting to the gutters due to glue. Fine/vg. Also included is a first day issue William Faulkner stamp on an envelope that has BEEN SIGNED IN INK BY ARTHUR LAURENTS.
