Bernard Lodge likes diners, but he has never been to one owned by a chicken. He has written such whimsical picture books as Shoe Shoe Baby, which was illustrated by his daughter Katherine. Bernard lives with his family in West Sussex, England. In his spare time, he enjoys making woodcut and linograph prints.

Tim Bowers is the award-winning illustrator of many picture books, including The Bravest of the Brave by Shutta Crum; Sherman Crunchley by Laura Numeroff and Nate Evans; Cynthia Rylant's Little Whistle series; and the I Can Read Book Custard Surprise by Bernard Lodge. He lives with his family in Ohio.
