Venus was the first African American to reach a number one ranking in the Open Era and has been a profound advocate for gender equity throughout her career. Off the court, Venus has several successful business endeavors including the plant-based protein company Happy Viking, where she can showcase her passion for wellness and empower others to embrace healthier lifestyles.



Co-author Kelly E. Carter is a former sportswriter at USA Today, the Dallas Morning News, Orange County Register, and other newspapers. She segued into entertainment reporting with a correspondent position at People before adding travel and food writing to her repertoire.
