Synopsis
Written for a research methods course that follows a preliminary statistics course. Author David Pittenger’s insight that students who studied statistics first had not mastered that subject lead to writing a methods text that reviews and integrates statistical discussions with that of research design. À propos de l?auteur
David Jett Pittenger received his B.A. in Psychology from the College of Wooster, his Master's of Science from Texas A & M University, and his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Georgia. He is currently an Associate Professor and Chair in the department of Psychology at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. In addition to teaching courses in statistics and research design, David teaches courses in physiological psychology, psychometrics, learning and behavior, and cognitive psychology. David has many interests in psychology and has written articles on the partial reinforcement extinction effect, the ethical responsibilities of psychologists, the validity of personality inventories, and the teaching of psychology. David has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his career, including the David A. Leach Award for Outstanding Student in Experimental Psychology at the College of Wooster, the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award at the University of Georgia, and the McCoy Professor of Psychology-Award for Teaching Excellence at Marietta College.
