Synopsis
This text, with accompanying CD-ROM, introduces students to the discipline of computer science and the concepts of systematic problem-solving and programming. The CD-ROM complements the text and is interactive, with many exercises and navigational tips. The authors explore the breadth of computer science as a discipline (in six chapters) and analyze various problem-solving approaches in a simple graphical programming environment (in three chapters), which provides descriptions of common errors and how to eradicate them.
