A problem solving approach is taken throughout the book, emphasizing the context of agile manufacturing and the complexities to be addressed.

Dr. Angappa Gunasekaran is Professor of Supply Chain Management at Pennsylvania State University Harrisburg, where he previously served as Director of the School of Business Administration and Special Advisor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He previously held deanships at California State University, Bakersfield, and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he also directed the Business Innovation Research Center and chaired the Department of Decision and Information Sciences. He is a globally recognized scholar in operations management and information systems, with over 500 journal publications. His research interests include operations, supply chain, and logistics management.
