Synopsis

This tells the story of obsession within the world of horse-racing. Elizabeth Walton examines the world of the owners and trainers, the people who are willing to go through the financial and emotional mill. Horse ownership is full of the cash-rich young and middle-aged released from family responsibilities. But 80% of the horses that run during the flat season win nothing at all. Anecdotal and humorous, with interviews, characters and intrigue, this book covers one calendar year of racing to explore the truth behind the horse-racing industry.
