This is the biography of Lou Reed, the singer/songwriter who is widely regarded as one of the surviving cult heroes of rock 'n' roll. Chief songwriter for the Velvet Underground - the band produced by Andy Warhol - Reed introduced drugs and aberrant sexuality into the American pop song.
