And then there was The Two Ronnies, an incredibly successful television show with a man in glasses who, rather spookily, had the same first name as me. You can find out about how we tried to avoid becoming a double act, and why it was always goodnight from me and goodnight from him, but never ever goodnight from us. I'll also tell you about the time I was suddenly struck down by a mysterious illness which destroyed my sense of balance and prevented me from going on stage for several years. Altogether I must admit, it is a truly dramatic story.

Known for his versatility, quick-wit, family-friendly dialogue, and meandering monologues, Corbett was a staple of British television for more than 50 years. In his autobiography, he tells the complete story, from his school technique of estimating the height of a girl before daring to ask her to dance, to his days as a night club barman in London, and finally, to his decades long career as a stand-up and sitcom star. Including tales of how he first met David Frost, John Cleese and Michael Palin, this book is written with all of Ronnie’s trademark warmth and wit.

Comedian, actor, writer and broadcaster, Ronnie Corbett began his career in show business in the early 1950s. Before long, he found himself being offered roles in sitcoms, films and family shows. But his big break came when he joined The Frost Report alongside David Frost and John Cleese. It was here he met Ronnie Barker, and in 1971, The Two Ronnies were launched, becoming a national institution until they called it a day in the mid-eighties. Becoming something of a national treasure, Ronnie continued working in the TV industry into his 80s. He sadly passed away in March 2016.
