Revisiting his unhappy childhood home in Ireland from Edwardian London, Ross Ferris finds bitter memories still too fresh, so he seeks, instead, the lively company of his cousins at Killorglin, site of the Puck Fair. There a chance encounter with a charismatic gypsy girl shatters his peace of mind.
