King Rollo is the adorable, bearded, kingly creation of David McKee. After the publication of his bestselling mini hardback stories, King Rollo went on to star in his own animation series, narrated by Ray Brooks. This slipcase contains four favourite adventures:

King Rollo and the New Shoes: King Rollo has smart new shoes, but they have laces and he doesn't know how to tie them. He asks the Magician to tie them for him, but his friend has a better idea.

King Rollo and the Bread: King Rollo and the Magician meet a farmer eating a loaf of bread. The king tries to impress the farmer with all the amazing food his can magic up... but sometimes a simple thing is the best.

King Rollo and the Birthday: King Rollo wants to give Queen Gwen a birthday card. He buys the best in the shop, but Cook advises him to make her one, as that will be far more special.

King Rollo and King Frank: King Rollo doesn't like King Frank, but he is the only friend who will come and play with him. So King Rollo gets the opportunity to see if he's right in person.

Biographie de l'auteur

David McKee's first book was published in 1964. His books are now sold in different languages throughout the world, and many of them have been adapted for television. He is one of the leading contemporary children's book creators.

Born and brought up in South Devon, whilst still at art college he started selling one-off cartoons to newspapers and on graduation, he began to contribute to such publications as Punch, Times Educational Supplement and the Reader's Digest. His first book, Two Can Toucan was published in 1964 and since then David has written and illustrated numerous children's books. As well as his own books, which include the popular best-selling Elmer series, David illustrates for a number of other writers including Michael Bond's Paddington Bear and Forrest Wilson's Super Gran books.
