This haunting novella follows British journalist Henry Morgan's labyrinthine and obsessive quest to find two Jewish refugees in London during the Blitz. Having helped sixteen-year-old Antonin and his uncle leave Czechoslovakia before the war, Morgan finds himself on a strange journey confronting class, politics and paranoia while trying to discover the truth about the missing man and boy.
