Jack and Polly live happily above their parents antique shop where spiders, moths, woodworm, and dust nestle amongst the bric-a-brac. When they are faced with losing their arch enemy, the horrible Mr Fowler, the children realise what they will miss - the tiger-skin rug, the old gramophone and piles of records, the jar with the strange smell, and especially the water buffalo's head with the wonky horn. Help comes in unexpected ways.
