Biographie de l'auteur :

Floyd Jay Winters received a BA degree from Rutgers University and an MA and an Ed. S. from Nova Southeastern University. He spent a semester sabbatical at the Harvard Graduate School. He taught three graduate level courses for Kent State University and several more graduate level courses for Nova Southeastern University in the 1980s. Floyd has been a Computer Science professor at Manatee Community College since 1986.

Floyd also coauthored Web Collaboration Using Microsoft Office and NetMeeting. His first textbook was Microcomputer Troubleshooting and Maintenance. Floyd is MOUS certified, NET+ certified, A+ certified, and he is also Cisco CCNA and CCAI certified. Before accepting his position at MCC he was the lead service technician for a computer dealer with stores in three counties. In that capacity, he was authorized and certified as a computer repair specialist by IBM and Apple. Floyd has been an active computer consultant since 1982. During the past five years, most of his consulting work has been focused on writing Microsoft Access databases for local businesses and charitable organizations.

Floyd was a varsity wrestling coach for 10 years; his teams won several championships and posted an undefeated string of 3 I straight wins over a two-year period. He also was a championship youth soccer coach.

Julie T. Manchester got her start in the computer science field in 1976, in the days of punched cards and long strings of complex job control language. She graduated from the Computer Processing Institute in East Hartford, CT Julie has worked on IBM mainframes, programming in COBOL for such companies as Raytheon and Maryland Casualty. She worked as a project team member designing, writing, and implementing an online inventory system at Raytheon and wrote custom-tailored, data-entry and data-transmission programs for Maryland Casualty's regional offices. Julie has edited computer repair, networking, and Windows textbooks and manuals. She has designed, customized, and installed database projects for local businesses. Julie also coauthored Web Collaboration Using Microsoft Office and NetMeeting.

Julie earned an A.A. in Business Administration and an A.S. in Computer Science from Manatee Community College, and a B.S. in Management from University of South Florida. Julie is MOUS certified.
