It introduces the language of data communications, making the reader literate in relevant terminology, concepts, hardware, software, protocols, and architectures. The text begins with a thorough introduction to telecommunications. It then progresses logically from basic concepts to interface and transmission standards, data integrity, security, architectures, protocols, and networking.
