Synopsis
This text offers comprehensive, single-source coverage of most of the commonly available computer peripherals (and some not-so-common ones) from the micro, mini, and mainframe computer worlds. It covers physical descriptions, installation, methods of operation, trouble shooting, maintenance, schematics, and future trends. It also describes most of the families of available computer peripherals and discusses a few older devices with historical significance. Emphasis is placed on the various facets of the peripherals themselves, not the operation of the central computer as the book explains the features of each peripheral and how it works. The installation, set-up, maintenance, and repair of the peripherals is covered and the future based on current trends and discussions with manufacturers is contemplated.
