The text gives a presentation of the theory of structural analysis and its application to trusses, beams, and frames. Discussions relevant to a particular theory are followed by Procedures for Analysis. Features new to this edition include illustrations and design; a new chapter on cables and arches; outstanding realism in the homework problems - through revision of existing problems and the addition of many new problems; a new section on the Double Integration Method for computing deflections; clarified treatment of moment distribution; a new version of the STRAN software program - packaged with the text - now easier to use and includes the drawing of shear and moment diagrams for beams and frames. All figures, problems, and examples have been revised for accuracy.
