This book covers statistics topics with a strong emphasis on regression, statistical inference, use of the computer in statistical analysis, and using statistics to make management decisions in the real world. Many of the exercises have marks which indicate whether the exercise should be done with hand computation methods, with a computer, or with a combination of both. There is an increased use of computer analysis, and a data diskette containing the data sets for the computer database comes with each copy of the text.

An excellent resource to learn Statistics If you are looking for a no-nonsense book to learn Statistics in the context of Business & Management, look no further. This is an easy to understand book jam packed with real world examples and plenty of exercises. What I find most helpful is that book avoids mathematical proofs in favor of application; after all, the target audience are managers, not mathematicians. On a different note, I really don't know why all these reviews for a different book have popped up here. Strange. --Jason Macwan May 17, 2013
Appropriate for one or two term courses in introductory Business Statistics. With Statistics for Management, Levin and Rubin have provided a non-intimidating business statistics textbook that students can easily read and understand. Like its predecessors, the Seventh Edition includes the absolute minimum of mathematical/statistical notation necessary to teach the material. Concepts are fully explained in simple, easy-to-understand language as they are presented, making the text an excellent source from which to learn and teach. After each discussion, readers are guided through real-world examples to show how textbook principles work in professional practice.
