Synopsis

Ryszard Kapuscinski has always displayed an aptitude for being in the right place at the right time. During his career as a foreign correspondent, he has witnessed 27 revolutions and coups. This is an account of the journey he undertook in 1989 across the vast territories of the Soviet Union, on the eve of the collapse of the great Russian Empire.
