Albrecht Folsing was born in Germany in 1940, and studied physics in Berlin, Philadelphia and Hamburg. He became a science journalist and most recently has been Head of the Department of 'Nature and Science' of a German radio and television station. In 1983 he published a biography of GALILEO, which aroused considerable public attention.
