Jan Mark is one of our most highly regarded and successful children's authors. She grew up in Kent, attended Canterbury College of Art and went on to teach in Gravesend. She spent two years as writer-in-residence at Oxford Polytechnic and still lives in Oxford. Jan won the Carnegie Medal for her first book, THUNDER AND LIGHTNINGS.
