Synopsis

Lou is not happy when her friend Emma's bossy grandmother arrives. Granny Browne thinks that rich but horrible Angela, a member of Lou and Emma's ballet class, would be a more suitable friend for Emma. At ballet Angela is super-sweet to Emma and Louand Emma begin to drift apart. Lou is miserable and decides to concentrate on her dancing and beat Angela in the end of term display for parents. Disaster strikes when she twists her ankle and can't perform. She is sure that nothing will stop Angelawinning everything but, to her delight, everything changes and Jem scoops all the prizes.

Antonia Barber is very knowledgeable about ballet - her daughter studied ballet from the age of three and attended the Royal Ballet School junior classes at Sadler's Wells.
Antonia is well-known for such best-selling picture books as THE MOUSEHOLECAT (with Nicola Bayley) and CATKIN (with P J Lynch). Her novel GHOSTS, filmed and published in paperback as THE AMAZING MR BLUNDEN, was runner-up for the Carnegie Medal. Antonia Barber lives in Ashford, Kent.
