Barry Eisler spent three years working for the United States government. He has lived and worked extensively in Japan, and now lives in New York. He earned his black belt in Judo from the Kodokan International Judo centre in Tokyo. He has written two critically acclaimed John Rain thrillers, Rain Fall and Hard Rain.
