Synopsis

Ecrivain originaire du Michigan, Laura Kasischke est souvent comparée à Joyce Carol Oates pour sa critique vénéneuse de la société américaine. Surtout célèbre aux États-Unis pour ses poèmes, publiés dans de nombreuses revues, elle a remporté le Hopwood Awards et la bourse MacDowell, ainsi que d'autres récompenses littéraires. Son premier roman, Suspicious River, est paru en 1996. Il a été adapté au cinéma en 2000 sous le même titre par Lynne Stopkewich, avec Molly Parker. Un autre film tiré de La Vie devant ses yeux sort sur les écrans en 2008 : réalisé par Vadim Perelman, il sera intitulé The Life Before Her Eyes, avec Uma Thurman dans le rôle principal. En France, les romans de Laura Kasischke sont publiés chez Christian Bourgois. Rêves de garçons et La Couronne verte sont parus respectivement en 2007 et 2008. A moi pour toujours a remporté le prix Lucioles des Lecteurs en 2008. Laura Kasischke enseigne l'art du roman à Ann Arbor et vit toujours dans le Michigan.
