Michael J. Brodhead, Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Nevada, Reno, is a Historian in the Office of History, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alexandria, Virginia. He is the author of David J. Brewer: The Life of a Supreme Court Justice, 1837 1910 and coeditor and annotator of A Naturalist in Indian Territory: The Journals of S. W. Woodhouse, 1849 1850, also published by the University of Oklahoma Press.
