Patricia Ingham is the General Editor for the Authors in Context series and author of The Language of Gender and Class: Transformations in the Victorian Novel (1996), Invisible Writing and the Victorian Novel (2001), and The Brontes: A Critical Reader. She has also edited Hardy's Jude the Obscure and Gissing's The Odd Women for Oxford World's Classics.
