Synopsis

Fanfare is a four-part activity-based course designed to meet the demands of the new curriculum for English language teaching in primary schools. The aims of the course are to: develop language across the curriculum through topics and tasks that draw on children's skills and social development in other areas of the school curriculum, enable children to begin to communicate in English in everyday situations with the help of a variety of motivating activities, provide children with the first steps towards taking responsibility for their learning through a make-your-own picture dictionary and simple self-assessment activities, encourage children to work both individually and to co-operate with their class-mates in a variety of games and simple project work, foster respect for foreign languages and cultures through comparison of everyday customs.
