Synopsis

Quick Work is a short Business English course for pre-intermediate students from all areas of business. The course provides material for approximately 30 hours of classroom teaching, structured around five units focusing on key performance areas such as sharing ideas, exchanging information, and solving problems. Quick Work is equally suitable for a short, intensive one-week course, or for extensive / modular courses spread over a number of weeks or months. It can be used from beginning to end, or as a dip-in resource - each section of the book is free-standing, and can be selected and used out of sequence. Quick Work focuses on learners' practical needs. The main emphasis throughout is on developing speaking and listening skills, using a time-efficient, task-based approach. Practical output activities reflect the kinds of tasks that business learners typically need to perform in English. Grammar and language work are integrated into each section on a 'need to know' basis. Learners will find it easy to relate the tasks to their own work situation, and to draw on their own professional knowledge, experience, and expertise to communicate more effectively. As well as this Student's Book, Quick Work comprises a Teacher's Book with extra photocopiable materials, a Workbook, and a choice of audio cassette or audio CD.
