Reg Wright has taught English in several countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. He has heen a teacher and a teacher trainer, and has written many course books and materials for both students and teachers. He now lives in Scotland and works as a freelance consultant and also as an examiner for English as a Second Language exams. The idea for his story Ear-rings from Frankfurt began one Friday afternoon during an English Tesson. To amuse the students, Reg Wright gave them the first few sentences of a thriller and asked them to imagine what happened next. Months later, the idea came back to him, and became Far-rings from Frankfurt.
England in 1647: King Charles is in prison, and Cromwell's men are fighting the King's men. These are dangerous times for everybody. The four Beverley children have no parents; their mother is dead and their father died white fighting for the King. Now Cromwell's soldiers have come to burn the house - with the children in it. The four of them escape into the New Forest - but how will they live? What will they eat? And will Cromwell's soldiers find them?
