This is the first complete edition of these important ninth- or tenth-century texts.

This need has now been admirably met by Donald Scragg's superb edition, which more than supplies all that could be hoped for from such an undertaking. Scragg performs an admirable work of summary, synthesis, and discussion, and his printing of all known direct sources at the bottom of the page facilitates comparison.
