South Asia remains home to the world's largest number of poor. There are also substantial disparities between countries. Ejaz Ghani is Economic Adviser in the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Unit, South Asia Region of the World Bank Sadiq Ahmed is the Senior Manager of Regional Program, South Asia Region of the World Bank.
