Amongst these are Resistance in Vichy France (OUP 1978), Occupied France (Basil Blackwell, 1985), Vichy France and the Resistance: culture and ideology (Croom Helm, 1985) as co-editor, He has been contracted to write the Penguin History of Twentieth-Century France.
