Officially approved by the standards and effectiveness unit at the DfEE and supporting the National Literacy Strategy training materials, the activity resource banks provide practical teaching exemplars linked to a selection of specific objectives in the National Literacy Framework. Module 3 includes activities which cover text, sentence, and word level; show how to use grammar awareness to decipher new words; support investigations into how punctuation works; highlight the function of nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions etc.; and should make children aware of word choice in writing for different audiences and different purposes.
