The last four decades of the eighteenth century witnessed a sudden acceleration in the pace of change in the political cultures of England and Germany. The ways in which developments in the two countries diverged form the subjects of this book. The volume is divided into five sections and contains 22 essays by scholars from England, North America and Germany. This book explores similarities as well as differences in the historical development of England and Germany.
