Synopsis
This is a new edition of "EU Law: Text, Cases and Materials". Written by two experts in the field, the book offers the reader an authoritative and comprehensive guide to all aspects of EU Law (both institutional and substantive). Through the mix of text and cases, the fully revised and updated third edition addresses key developments in legislation, with particular focus on the Treaty of Nice. The structure and format of the chapters have been improved by introducing tools to help the reader navigate through the text, and by the division of some chapters into two: including those on community legislation; equal treatment of women and men; competition law; and Article 81.

Building on its unrivalled reputation as the definitive EU Text, Cases, and materials book, this edition looks in detail at the way in which the Treaty of Lisbon has radically changed both the institutional and substantive law of the European Union. Paul Craig and Gráinne de Búrca are noted scholars on European Law who have a wealth of experience of both teaching and writing in this subject area. Working closely as an author team for nearly twenty years, they succeed in bringing together a unique mix of illuminating commentary and well-chosen extracts from a wide range of primary and secondary materials.
