DNA replication is a very finely controlled process. A complex set of mechanisms are involved in, for example, determining when replication is initiated, and ensuring that only one round of replication occurs per cell division. Elucidating these mechanisms will provide a key to understanding the control of cell division and differentiation. By emphasizing common themes, this book constructs a framework in which to place the diverse information gained from studies of different organisms.
