Nigel Foster provides a concise, involving, and clear account of EU Law, giving an accessible entry point to the subject, without compromising on depth of analysis. This new text gives an incisive exposition of EU institutions and procedures, as well as the key areas of substantive law. This coverage enables students to quickly grasp the fundamental aspects of EU Law, making it ideal for use on undergraduate and GDL courses, particularly those taught over one semester. The book is divided into two parts. The first part charts the development of EU law and explains how its institutions and procedures combine together to form a legal framework incorporating 27 Member States and close to 500 million people. Insightful author commentary places the law in context and explains why the EU has developed in the way it has. The second part of the book looks at the most important areas of substantive law including the free movement of goods, the free movement of persons, and social policy.
