The White Book is of course an essential; but, given the size of that now, I suspect that this commentary will be of substantial use in a civil practitioner's (and civil judge's) busy everyday practice. I look forward to using it. (The Hon Mr Justice Hickinbottom, High Court Judge (Queen's Bench Division))
[I]t is impressively comprehensive but compact! (Kate Elsmore, Professional Support Lawyer, Mayer Brown LLP)
[C]learly presented and convenient to navigate. It is concise, but at the same time appears to contain a helpful level of detail. I've found myself referring to it as a first point of reference, often to check a point of procedure in a hurry.... I've already recommended the commentary to colleagues (and my copy has already been borrowed). (Douglas Paine, Barrister, One Essex Court)
I think that this commentary edition is quite excellent. My impressions so far are that it strikes just the right balance between economy and coverage. It is incisive and up to date, deals with some of the important subsidiary points, and it is easy to find things - perhaps the most important feature of all. (Shantanu Majumdar, Barrister, Radcliffe Chambers)
Blackstone's is the most helpful volume [of the Civil Court Books] - therefore the commentary on its own makes a useful, if not essential, addition to the armoury. (Ian Beeby, Advocate)
