In response to the increasingly diverse bilingual population of our schools, this book offers clear, research-based and class tested perspectives so that teachers can work with the literacy needs and levels of their students. Literacy Assessment of Second Language Learners views literacy as a social, linguistic and cognitive process. Abilities developed in one language are used and transferred to a second language.
