Bridge to Twentieth-Century Music utilizes programmed instruction to help students gain mastery of some of the concepts and techniques related to late nineteenth century and early twentieth century harmony. Students receive continual feedback and reinforcement as they work at their own pace. This book can be used by a single student working individually in a large class situation. Since students work independently through the programmed format of the text, instructors can concentrate on the more creative aspects of the course.
