The strategies presented in this text are research-based and are known to increase reading comprehension for ELLs.

Diane Brantley, Ph.D. is a former classroom teacher and reading specialist who has worked in the field of education for the past eighteen years.  She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Language, Literacy and Culture, teaching assessment and instruction courses in the Reading and Language Arts Credential and Masters Degree Program at California State University, San Bernardino.  Additionally Dr. Brantley is the Director of the CSUSB Literacy Center which serves K-12 students from the local community.
